Traveling from Chetumal to Bacalar is extremely simple thanks to the Maya Train and the proximity of CTM Airport.

The Chetumal Airport Maya Train station is located directly opposite CTM Airport (walkable in a few minutes).

The Maya Train ride takes only 35 to 37 minutes from Chetumal Station to Bacalar Station.

Local Colectivo

Bacalar Station to Downtown

Upon stepping off at Bacalar Maya Train Station, you can take a local colectivo for just ~$30 MXN (5-10 min) or a taxi (8-15 min) directly to downtown Bacalar.

Chetumal is located just 38 km from Bacalar (35 to 45 minutes by road or 35 minutes on the Maya Train).

Maya Train (Chetumal Airport Station)

Located right across from CTM Airport. Connects directly to Bacalar Station in a smooth 35 to 37-minute ride. From Bacalar Maya Train Station, you can hop on a local colectivo (~$30 MXN, 5-10 min) or a taxi (8-15 min) directly to downtown Bacalar.

Located right in front of Plaza Américas (Insurgentes Ave). Fastest road option, departing as soon as 4 seats are filled.
