1. "El Aserradero" Municipal Pier
One of the few lagoon accesses that remains 100% free. Located at the end of 14th Street, this pier offers spectacular views and calm, crystal-clear waters. It is the perfect place for a swim at no cost.
- Arrive early as it gets crowded.
- No alcohol or loud music allowed.
2. Main Square & Handicraft Market
The heart of the Magic Town. Walking through the central park is totally free. In the evenings, the atmosphere is vibrant with food stands. You will find the Handicraft Market right there, ideal for seeing local work.

- Try a "marquesita" (local dessert).
3. San Joaquín Parish
A historical jewel from the 18th century. This church honors the patron saint of Bacalar and features beautiful colonial architecture. Entry is free and it is a haven of peace on hot days.

4. Ecoparque Bacalar
An incredible recovered space with long piers through mangroves. Although they sometimes charge a minimal recovery fee (approx $1-2 USD) for cleaning, it is practically a gift for the facilities and conservation they offer.

5. Cocalitos (Stromatolites)
Home of the stromatolites. The entrance fee is very low compared to private beach clubs. Here you can see the oldest living structures in the world and relax in their water hammocks.

6. Fort San Felipe
For history lovers. Although it has a cost, it is very affordable. It offers the best panoramic views of the lagoon and a very complete pirate museum.
