Pirates Channel in Bacalar
Laguna de Bacalar (frente al centro del pueblo), Bacalar, Quintana Roo.
A natural waterway steeped in history, once used by the Mayans for trade and later by legendary pirates seeking precious timber. It features very shallow, pale turquoise waters and white sand with a high mineral content, ideal for a natural skin exfoliation mud mask.
Local Tip
"Access is free, but you must reach it by water. Renting a kayak is the most budget-friendly way and gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. Note: Motorized boat tours do not operate on Wednesdays due to local ecological recovery days."
